In the paper “Sexual differences in yolk images of chicken eggs captured during early hatching stages: Possibility of application for early sex prediction,” published by Dr. Tamura’s group at Kyoto University, analyses were conducted using Bayesian inference (Gaussian process regression) with Multi-Sigma®.
In the study, features of the vascular network were extracted from yolk images taken during the early incubation stage. A Gaussian process regression model was then built using Multi-Sigma®, and the software’s contribution analysis (sensitivity analysis) function was used to identify the features that influence sex determination.
